My Story
Holly White is a professional oboist, instructor and international clinician from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She has served on the music faculty of Grove City College for a number of years, and has been a woodwind coach for numerous bands and orchestras of all levels, throughout the United States. Warner Brothers has produced several educational videos featuring Holly as the oboe clinician and performer. Holly has performed on oboe and English Horn locally and internationally.
Holly earned her Bachelors degree in Music Education and Performance from Morehead State University and he Masters in Performance from Eastern Illinois University. She studied with Joseph Martin, Paulette Chrise (Paris Conservatory), Jerry Siruchek (I.U., Bloomington, Indiana) and Ray Still (Chicago Symphony).
Holly has been teaching oboe for over forty years, and has placed students in such fine schools as Eastman Conservatory, The Juilliard School, Peabody Conservatory, Manhattan School of Music, Northwestern University, and Interlochen. A number of her students are performing with symphony, opera and ballet orchestras in the United States and internationally.
Locally, her students are consistently awarded first chair placements in competitions up to, and including the national level in orchestra, band and solo performances. Although her high school and college students continue to earn substantial scholarships, Holly delights in working with very young students! She loves to introduce children to music and help them achieve a sense of accomplishment that can carry into the rest of their lives.
